Mirabella Guitars
Considered one of the premier builders of the modern era, Long Island-based luthier Cristian Mirabella is a direct living link to the legendary Golden Era of New York archtop making. Raised in a deeply musical household, Mirabella’s journey began with classical guitar studies at age five, transitioning into a rigorous, traditional 15-year apprenticeship starting at age eleven. Guided by first-hand exposure to the masterworks and talents of James D’Aquisto and John Monteleone, he developed an unparalleled mastery of both acoustic science and traditional woodwork.
Since founding Mirabella Guitars and Restorations in 1997, Cristian has earned a stellar reputation not only for his breathtaking, innovative original designs but also as one of the world’s absolute top-tier restorers of priceless, vintage D’Angelico, D’Aquisto, and Golden Era Gibson instruments. Striking a masterful balance between visual art and refined acoustic projection, a Mirabella instrument represents the pinnacle of handcrafted, responsive jazz guitar design.
