What to Expect at Archtop Academy 2026
Designed specifically for intermediate to advanced level players, the Archtop Academy is a transformative, 3-day musical intensive running from September 20th–24th. The core curriculum focuses heavily on the delicate architecture of Solo and Duo Guitar playing, giving you the practical blueprints to master both sophisticated solo arranging and the mechanics of world-class accompaniment.
Arrival/Orientation Sunday evening Sept 20th (if you’re not already there for the festival). Breakfast and morning sessions begin Monday morning and go through Wednesday evening.
Throughout the week, you will dive deep into a diverse harmonic palette, mastering essential chord voicings, seamless walking bass lines, and dynamic rhythmic approaches that breathe life into your playing. Under the close, personalized guidance of Fareed Haque and Sean McGowan, you will refine your physical mechanics across multiple disciplines—exploring fingerstyle, hybrid picking, and traditional picking techniques. This camp is a hands-on workshop engineered to expand your musicianship, tighten your technique, and give you the confidence to command the stage alone or in tandem with another player.
